To determine the standard consistency of given sample of cement by Vicat apparatus.
Vicat apparatus with Vicat plunger, Vicat mould, Measuring jar, Weighing scale, Trowel etc.
Description Standard Consistency of Cement is defined as that consistency which will permit the Vicat plunger to a point 5mm to 7mm from the bottom of the Vicat mould.Take cement in a pan and measure 300g of cement using the weighing scale.

300.00 g
Take water of about weight of dry cement a nd mix it thoroughly with the cement using trowel. The gauging time should not be more than 3 to 5 minutes.
